D-Day Slot
The D-Day Slot is a 24-hour time period during which allied forces landed on the beaches of Normandy, France during World War II. The landing, codenamed Operation Overlord, was the largest amphibious invasion in history and began the liberation of Western Europe from Nazi Germany.
The D-Day Slot begins at 00:00 hours on 6 June 1944 and ends at 24:00 hours on the same day. During this time, Allied forces, led by the United States, Britain, and Canada, landed on five beaches along the Normandy coast. The beaches were codenamed Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, and Sword.
